Privacy Policy
Updated August 11, 2026
ShelfVelo is operated by Tastewise Inc.(“Tastewise”, “we”, “us”). This policy explains what we collect when you use shelfvelo.com, why we collect it, who processes it on our behalf, and how to have it corrected or deleted.
What we collect
Information you give us. The public rankings need no account. If you submit one of our forms — to unlock a full report, subscribe to trend alerts, or request analyst access — we collect your work email address, and optionally your company, role, category of interest and phone number. We also store the exact consent wording shown to you, its version, and the time you accepted it, as a record of that consent.
Information collected automatically. When you submit a form we record the page you were on, the referring URL, any UTM campaign parameters in the address bar, and a country code derived from your IP address by our CDN. We do not store your full IP address alongside your lead record.
Cookies and similar technologies. Analytics and advertising tags load through Google Tag Manager and may include Google Analytics 4 and Google Ads. They run under Google Consent Mode v2, which defaults to denied: nothing is stored on your device for analytics or advertising until you accept in the cookie banner. We also use Mixpanel for product analytics. Two items are strictly functional and are not advertising cookies: a browser localStorage flag that remembers you have already unlocked a report, and a signed, HTTP-only cookie that carries the same unlock server-side.
How we use it
- To send you the report, export or alerts you asked for.
- To contact you about ShelfVelo and Tastewise products, where you have consented.
- To understand which pages and rankings are useful, in aggregate.
- To detect and block automated abuse of our forms.
Our legal bases are your consent (marketing email, phone contact, analytics and advertising cookies) and our legitimate interest in operating and securing the site.
Who processes it
- HubSpot — CRM; leads are synced there so we can follow up.
- MongoDB Atlas — hosting for the lead record.
- Google (Tag Manager, Analytics 4, Ads) — measurement, subject to consent.
- Mixpanel — product analytics.
- Cloudflare — bot protection on our forms, where enabled.
- Amazon Web Services — infrastructure hosting.
We do not sell or share your personal information for cross-context behavioural advertising, and we do not pass your details to unrelated third parties. Data is processed in the United States.
How long we keep it
We keep lead records for as long as you remain subscribed, and delete or anonymise them on request or when a record has been inactive for three years. Consent records are kept for as long as needed to evidence that consent.
Your rights
You can ask us to access, correct, export or delete your personal information, object to processing, or withdraw consent at any time — including by using the unsubscribe link in any email. If you are in the EEA or UK you also have the right to complain to your supervisory authority; if you are a California resident you have the rights to know, delete, correct and opt out under the CCPA/CPRA. Email hello@tastewise.io and we will respond within the statutory time limit.
To change your cookie choices, use the cookie banner — clearing your site data restores it.
Children
ShelfVelo is a business tool and is not directed to children under 16.
Changes
We will post any change to this policy on this page and update the date above. Material changes will be notified by email where we hold your address.
